Tablescaping tips from Limonsier

Posted by Beth Pickard on

As you probably already know we love tablescaping here at Talking Tables. We believe you can transform and elevate every event from birthdays and Christmas to every day dinner with family or chilled drinks with friends with a tablescape. This can comprise of bright flowers, crockery and decoration or just some simple flickering candles adding ambience. Little ways of adding to memories.

We are always looking to hone our tablescaping skills and learn more from the experts. We were pleased to join entertaining expert and interior stylist Alina from Limonsier, who took us through tips and tricks to create a spring tablescape, as part of their collaboration with By Rotation. Here are our top 3 takeaways:

Pattern is powerful

We immediately loved the eye-catching table Alina had set up. We find we often stray away from using bold pattern, especially on more than one product on the table but Alina explained that if you keep to a colour scheme you can absolutely make it work using prominent patterns.

Flower power

Alina advised to always go for seasonal flowers to dress the table, and experiment with bud vases as well as laying them directly on the table. She gave us a great tip to go to big flower markets like New Covent Garden Flower Market, to make the most of a huge variety of fresh blooms at cheaper prices.

Invest in the best

While we think you can create beautiful tables on any budget Alina said that a great thing to do as avid hosts is invest in high quality crockery that you will bring out for years to come. These are the staple of the table!

Thanks to Limonsier for a great event, we will certainly be at the next one. In the meantime we're off to the flower market!
