Hoppy Easter fun: Candy filled bunny surprise

Posted by on

Hey there, little bunnies. Are you ready to make the cutest, candy-filled Easter bunnies ever? These adorable little bunnies are perfect for holding sweet treats, and you can even make chicks, lambs, or colourful eggs too.

But first, let’s go over some important rules to keep everything safe and super fun.

Safety first:

Ask a grown-up for help with cutting and gluing.

- Be careful with scissors and sticky glue—no gluey fingers on the walls.
- Keep little pieces away from tiny bunnies (babies and pets).
- Clean up when you're done so no one trips over your decorations.

Now, let's get started on our egg-stra special Easter craft

Step 1: Gather your egg-citing supplies

You'll need:

- Paper plates
- Paper cups (2 per character)
- Non-toxic acrylic paints or pens
- Brushes
- Glue or tape
- Scissors (ask an adult for help!)
- Napkins for tidiness
- A black pen for details
- Yummy sweets for filling

Step 2: Make your bunny's body

Use a pencil to draw a halfway line on both cups but on 1 add a small tab at the back—this will help keep your chick together.

Take your cup and cut on the lines you have just draw, take the time to ask for help with this step as it can be tricky.

Step 3:Time to get messy - painting fun

Let’s paint the inside of both cups pink—this way, your fingers won’t get covered in wet paint while you decorate the outside.

Once dry, paint the outside pink too.

Step 4: Your bunny needs some personality

Paint the centre of your plate pink, leaving the outer rim unpainted.

Flip the plate over and paint the back pink as well. Set it aside to dry.

Once dry, draw the bunny’s arms, feet, ears, whiskers, and nose onto the plate.

Carefully cut out all the pieces.

Add a pop of colour by painting small yellow teardrops in the centre of the bunny’s ears.

Step 5: Adding the final touches

Use glue or tape to attach the two halves of the cup together so they can open and close like a tiny treasure box.

Draw two little eyes to bring your chick to life.

Fill the inside with some tasty sweets for a fun surprise. I recommend some Cadburys mini eggs, some small biscuits or maybe even cupcake.

Step 6: Get creative
