Where To Get Your Table Setting Inspiration

Posted by Beth Pickard on

You can find a lot of the tablescapes we have created over on our Instagram, as well as our Inspiration page. Here the team details what theme was chosen and why, the products used, brand collaborations and food and drink served and enjoyed! If you're hosting family and friends this summer and want to impress with a bright and beautiful table setting here are some top tips on where you can get your inspiration:

1. Choose a colour theme

A simple way to make a table look beautifully put together is to choose a colour scheme and choose your table decoration based on this. We created this gold themed table for New Year’s celebrations. The most glamorous night of the year called for the most glamorous colour! We filled bud vases with golden foliage, scattered golden stars and of course added our Luxe Happy New Year Napkin.

2. Base your table around the cuisine or drink

Once you’ve chosen what you’ll be serving your guests you can work your tablescape around this. In January some of the team took up ‘Veganuary’ – trying delicious veg-based meals sourced from local farmer’s markets. Clare decorated her table with bright green veggies and flowers, along with green candles in our orange candle holders and fern napkins. Truly getting into the spirit!

3. Based on a location or destination

This summer many of us have had to forgo our usual trips abroad to beautiful locations.. so why not bring the location to your own table! We created this alfresco dining setting which transported us to beautiful Greek islands! Taking inspiration from the colours of the Mediterranean we decorated the table with bright flourishing flowers from Blossom & Thread, Tropical Palm Napkins and coloured candle holders. We filled our Mango Wood Bowls and platters with Greek cuisine and enjoyed lots of fresh aperol spritz from the Boho Jug.

4. Based around a book or film

Get into character by creating a table setting inspired by a film or book (and dress up accordingly!) Our Truly Alice range transports diners to Wonderland, creating a whimsical tea party tablescape. We used decadent candle holders and white roses dropped in the bud vases. We have created a Truly Alice bundle, and any purchase contributes to The National Garden Scheme’s fund for nursing charities.

5. Based around your favourite flowers

As you know, we are big fans of floral displays on tables, and hosting guests around a table is a great excuse to get your favourite flowers and place them as a centerpiece for everyone to enjoy. Blosson & Thread provided us some beautiful coloured flowers for a spring tablescape. We thought our Meadow napkins and pastel candle holders perfectly complimented the flowers, creating an eye-catching dinner setting.
