Volunteer Scheme: A Morning On The Common

Posted by Beth Pickard on

As we kick off our new volunteering scheme some of the Talking Tables team wanted to help the local community by doing a morning litter pick on Clapham Common, near our office. With the sun shining and people making the most of the green space there is often litter left behind (very naughty!). With the England euros match the evening before we expected there may be more than normal and were greeted by lots of pick up on Monday morning. It was great to see other people already busy clearing up the common and we got lots of thank you's and praise from locals and disposal workers alike!

By the time we got to the Old Town end of the common we had cleared many bags of litter and reunited a grateful dog owner with a beautiful dog collar. It was certainly a rewarding morning in the sunshine!
