Talking Tables' Festival Of Freedom: Flag Making

Posted by Beth Pickard on

For the Talking Tables Festival Of Freedom we are looking forward to making use of some of our favourite TT products and setting the scene. We also wanted to get creative and handmake some of the decorations ourselves. We were discussing elements of festivals that we love and bright displays of flags came up as a favourite, so we decided to create our own tie dye flags.

Leona from Artists Resource, who teach new creative art skills, came to the office and set us up with bright tie dye paints and flags. We then went through the process of trying out different tie dying techniques, creating colourful patterns across the flags, with some mixed results! Without having tried tie dye before many of the teams flags came out looking amazing, and it was great to learn a new skill that we could try for other events in the future. We also thought we may be able to make tie dye tshirts for the festival.

The flags were put out to dry and the next steps shall we sewing them together and then putting them up on the festival site. Keep an eye on our social channels for them as we document the festival next month!
