Pride London - Meet Damian!

Posted by Clare Brown on

Pride celebrates love, equality and diversity acknowledging what has been achieved so far and what is still to come. At Talking Tables, we are proud to unite for Pride across the globe.

In the run up to London’s parade on Saturday 6th July we have filled our website and social media channels with a rainbow of colour and spoken with one of our own colleagues about what Pride means to them.

Meet Damian! Damian is our Merchandise Planner/Buyer at Talking Tables.

What does Pride mean to you?

For me it’s a celebration of love, because love is love, no matter who you are, what you like or your story.

It’s a beautiful way of celebrating equality, love, visibility, self-affirmation, dignity, building the community, sexual diversity and gender variance.

As much as we all might think, it’s not just a big party but a statement and platform to fight hate and ignorance for future generations to live freely and without fear of being who they are.

What is you Pride must-have?

A group of my friends that I could enjoy the day with, support the cause and party to the greatest pop and dance hits!

Each year I proudly wear my must-have rainbow colours; rainbow bandana, high socks with rainbow stripes and a lot of glitter and rainbow face paint.

How are you celebrating Pride this year?

You’ll find me at Pride in London this year, there’s no way I will miss this massive celebration of love. A few of my work friends are joining me too! Beforehand, my fiancé and I are planning a “rainbow picnic breakfast” at Soho Square or Victoria Embankment Garden before we go to the parade. Afterwards, we will make our way to Soho to join everyone in further celebration.

If you're hosting your own Pride party, why not take a look at our Rainbow Brights range!

HAPPY PRIDE!
