I recently hosted a pizza and prosecco dinner party to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I wanted to keep the dinner table quite minimal and neutral, but use hanging decorations to inject some colour and fun. The rainbow coloured Happy Birthday fabric bunting and the adorable balloon shaped honeycombs worked perfectly as a bright backdrop to my subtle white and gold tablescape.

I ran some simple string lights down the middle of the table to make it twinkle, a retro gold apple shaped ice bucket (a showstopping must-have for the party season) and some fun Happy Birthday paper napkins. To add some height to the table I used a cake stand, topped with a delicious Oreo cake, and gold and white candles along with a glimmering Happy Birthday cake topper.

My top tip when putting together your own tablescape would be that you only need a handful of party and table decorations to really elevate your gathering so don’t over complicate it.

It was a lovely, fun evening celebrating together and enjoying tasty, slightly naughty, food and drinks.
