Independent store shout out - October 23
This month we caught up with Portfolio Cards & Gifts, one of our brilliant independent stores. As we head into the festive season it was great to hear what they're looking forward to and what their customers have been loving recently:
1. What are you most looking forward to as we head into the festive period?
It would have to be the smiles and happiness that exudes from our customers. The closer we get to Christmas, the more laughs and lovely chats we have. Everyone is in a good mood!
2. Have you noticed any trends with customer buying recently?
Sustainability is key right now. Our customers are actively avoiding cheaper, plastic products in favour of small companies with environmentally friendly ethos.
3. How do go about styling your fabulous windows and displays?
We pick a subject and we run with it! For example, mushrooms have been trending for some time – why not create a whole woodland display? Around pride month, we filled our shop with rainbows and sunshine, luring people in with vibrancy and happiness.
4. Anything new coming up for the shop?
Well, it’s that time of year when all of our Christmas orders are being delivered! We have some fan favourites back in stock such as the Roger la Borde advent calendars, adorable children’s books, and soft Jellycats.
5. What is your favourite Talking Tables product you have in stock right now?
Compostable trivia! A lovely, compact quizzing game that is also good to the environment.. how could you say no?
October is a busy month for our independent stores with the change of seasons and Halloween becoming an ever more popular celebration. Our bright Halloween collection is certainly eye-catching and it's been great to see so many shop windows and displays include it this year. We're also starting to see festive displays pop up which is making us very excited for the festive season, and our brand new Christmas collections.
