An evening with Bird & Blend

Posted by Beth Pickard on

Last week Beth from the Talking Tables marketing team joined a host of other B Corp brands at Bird & Blend's Notting Hill store for a 'teatox' workshop. Bird & Blend are a B Corp tea brand with an aim to expand people's knowledge and enjoyment of tea, and do good for the planet at the same time.

As someone who loves tea but sticks to just a few flavours and types I was intrigued to join the workshop and expand my tastes and knowledge. With January typically being a time when people look to improve their health and wellbeing it was a fitting time to learn more.

The workshop consisted of talks by various members of the Bird & Blend team about the different teas they make, the process and health benefits. We sampled lots of different teas, all with very creative names and ingredients. It was great to hear how many of the teas are inspired by focal points in the calendar such as students heading to university or pancake day. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy some of the unusual flavours, although some of them were a little too sweet or earthy for my tastes.

The team spoke about their chariTEA initiatives connected with the sales of certain blends, such as building a new green house for the local area. They detail more about their B Corp journey and charity work here.

Finally we learnt about and made a tea-based cold brew cocktail, which was delicious (dry January went out of the window here!)

Overall it was a great evening, and I enjoyed connecting with other B Corp brands, many of whom I hadn't heard of before. Hopefully we can work with some of them in the near future.

For all the teas you could ever desire make sure to check out Bird & Blend's offering here.
