I love the rich and bright colours of the vegetable napkin and thought it would be the perfect way to brighten up a drizzly grey January day. I lay the table at lunch time when it was still light. I have a dark wood table and so the gorgeous vibrant colours of the napkins really popped against this. I chose green and yellow glass bud vases and candlesticks to compliment the fresh colours in the napkin design and again these stood out well against the dark background.
As a treat and a break from cooking, I picked up some food from a local shop made by COOK. I had heard good things about the hand made, frozen ready meals and wanted to give them a try so took this as the perfect opportunity to.
To fit with the vegetable theme, and as a vegetarian, I chose a vegetable and chickpea tagine and an apple and blackberry crumble for pudding. I cooked some rice and roasted some baby tomatoes to accompany the main dish. The candlelight and table string lights added a twinkle to the table as it got dark outside and I simply placed the frozen meals straight in to the oven. The tagine was absolutely delicious and the crumble very yummy - I would highly recommend the ease, convenience and excellent quality of COOK's feasts.
